This method also allowed me to make the most of my yarn. As you can see the wreath frame is sectioned off and I found it was easiest to fill one section of pom poms at a time. Below you can see just where they were tied into place, never on those outside rings. You can tie the top color of your rainbow to the ring that is second in.

  • Repeat with the middle color, and then again with the last color.
  • I created 5 pom poms and tied them all onto the third ring in on the form. I started with the minty color which was the bottom of my rainbow arc. Tie your pom poms only to the inside two rings. As you tie, do not tie them to the most outside or most inside ring of the wreath frame as they will flop around too much.
  • To get started, choose one color of pom pom and create 4-5 pom poms using the large maker.
  • Pom pom makers in large and extra large.
  • Wire wreath form (I used this 18″ version).
  • Yarn in 4 colors, 3 for the rainbow arc, and one for the clouds (I like to use inexpensive standard yarn like this for this project).

    Today I am going to show you how to make this wreath, which is really quite easy and just requires a little bit of patience. This rainbow features no pot o’ gold at the end, but it does boast big fluffy white pom pom clouds and colors that will work all season long and even beyond St. Patty’s Day just around the corner, I decided to create a fun pastel pom pom wreath. While I love all of those, I wanted something a little less traditional.
